This session is a four hours course which introduces participants to the various aspects of home inspections including inspection scope and limitations, criteria for inspecting and inspection reporting requirements. This class is applicable to anyone desiring to learn about existing residential inspections per the industry standard of care and how to make your time efficient and productive to minimize error and maximize client satisfaction.
This course is primarily intended for new home inspectors who wish to enhance their knowledge of inspection requirements and the process. Other participants could include homeowners and contractors who are interested in inspection and who want to know basic criteria for evaluating existing homes. The primary goal is to help inspectors know tools required; what to look for, understand “the why” of an issue and improve how they communicate the importance of their findings and the effects on the home.
Instructor, Rob Knepshield:
Robert Knepshield is owner of RBS&K Home & Building Inspectors Inc. He became a professional home inspector in 1992 when he started RBS&K Home and Building Inspectors, Inc. RBS&K Home & Building Inspectors currently has two inspectors and has performed over 12,000 inspections. Rob is an ASHI member; ITA (Inspection Training Associates) trained and was a professional Home Inspection instructor at Kaplan Professional Schools for the ITA Denver School. Currently, Rob is the lead instructor for The ASHI School for Home Inspectors, in Denver. He has served as treasurer, secretary, vice president, president, and education chairman of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of ASHI. He has also served as the Colorado COR (Council of Representatives) leader and COR group leader for ASHI national. Rob is an affiliate member of the Aurora Association of Realtors and the Woman’s Council of Realtors. Rob has served on the Affiliate Committee’s for the Aurora Board of Realtors and the Woman’s Council of Realtors. He has been Affiliate of the Year for both Aurora board of Realtors and the Woman’s Council of Realtors.
